At the Myrtle Beach Football League (MBFL), everything we do is built on these three pillars. We’ve created a league where players of all ages can enjoy the game, compete with purpose, and do it all with the confidence of a safer alternative to tackle football.

 

Why We Started

MBFL was founded to bring a fresh, competitive, and player-focused football experience to the Myrtle Beach area. Too many leagues settle for participation over performance or lack the structure athletes deserve. We wanted something different — a place where football feels real, with custom jerseys, referees, weekly practices, and championship weekends that give every season meaning.

Because MBFL was created by players, for players, we understand what athletes want: real competition, steady improvement, and the chance to take pride in every snap. From day one, our mission has been to deliver that experience.

Every decision we make starts with the players. Before the business, before the logistics, we ask: “What’s best for the athletes on the field?”

MBFL delivers organized seasons with structured practices, competitive games, and championship events — but we’re more than just a league.

We also offer customized positional Skills Training for QBs, WRs, RBs, TEs, DBs, and Linemen. Each session is built to sharpen fundamentals, refine position-specific technique, and translate directly to game-day performance — whether that’s footwork, leverage, hand placement, or football IQ.

This blend of competition and development is what sets MBFL apart. Players don’t just play the game here — they grow within it.

 

Modified Flag, Real Football Feel

We’re not just playing standard flag football — MBFL is built to feel like real football.

Our modified rules are designed to keep the game fast-paced, physical, and strategic, while reducing unnecessary risks. Team sizes are structured to create the right balance of space, strategy, and pace, making every game safer and more exciting.

Most importantly, we use age-specific rule tweaks to improve safety and development at every level. Whether it’s simplifying rules for younger players or adding competitive layers for older divisions, each age group is structured to give athletes the best possible football experience for where they are in their journey.

The result is a version of football that looks, feels, and plays like tackle — but with the added safety parents trust.
